TV Licensing Red Hand Delivered Threatogram

There is a new TV Licensing threatogram doing the rounds.

The glossy red card, shown in the image above, bears laser printed "handwriting" claiming that it was hand delivered. It was hand delivered - by Royal Mail, just like most other things that get pushed through the letterbox. However, the recipient is clearly meant to jump to the incorrect conclusion that a TV Licensing goon has paid them a personal visit and delivered the card.

If the occupier of an unlicensed property thinks that TV Licensing has been at their doorstep, they are more likely to feel pressurised into buying a TV licence. TV Licensing knows that the occupiers of legally-licence-free properties will also feel pressurised, owing to the combative and accusatory tone of its caustic correspondence. Of course TV Licensing isn't bothered who it accuses or offends, just as long as the cash keeps rolling in.

Our advice to anyone receiving this latest missive from TV Licensing is to put it straight in the bin where it belongs. Do not be deceived or intimidated by TV Licensing's hollow threats and legal half-truths.

Anyone who is legally-licence-free should not be giving the scum at TV Licensing a second thought.

Please see our Quick Guide page for more information about TV Licensing's virtually non-existent powers, rights and obligations.
